March Favourites

Hey guys! It’s been awhile I know and I’m so very sorry for letting this slip up the past while. What can I say, work has been mental and I’ve had little to no time to try out new products let alone go shopping. But… I have managed to get my hands on three little things recently and I’ve been so excited to show you all so without further ado, let’s just get right into this!

1. Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder

A must-have for anyone!

I’ve mentioned this before I’m pretty sure but because I just recently bought a new pot of this, I thought it was worth going into a bit more detail about this magical powder. So what sets this setting powder apart from the rest? (Haha, get it? I know, I’m hilarious). Well let’s start off with the packaging. It definitely has a nice luxurious feel to it and it’s a pretty heavy jar coming in at 29g. The powder itself feels gorgeous on the skin, it’s incredibly soft and silky-light. It blends perfectly into your makeup and it doesn’t leave any white streaks once blended in properly, preferably with a beauty blender if you’re using this product under your eyes. It sets the makeup without adding any weight so it really feels like you’re wearing nothing at all, but boy does it make a huge difference!

The Cons:

-Puff. I never really use puffs but it’s still nice to get one in a pot of powder. Unfortunately, you have to buy the velour puff separately with this product which just seems to be a bit of a nuisance.

The Pros:

-Finish. It leaves you with a lovely modern, matte finish with a touch of sheer coverage. The translucent shade works on virtually all skin tones as well which is fantastic and a major selling point.

-Effect. Like all Laura Mercier Setting Powders, it has a soft-focus effect that subtly blurs the look of fine lines and imperfections. It actually doesn’t settle into fine lines or pores and never looks cakey so it makes for the perfect addition to any makeup bag.

If you’d like to pick up your own, you can get it through the Laura Mercier website now. It retails for €46.50 in Brown Thomas as well.

2. Laura Mercier Black Onyx Extra Lash Sculpting Mascara

Black as my soul

I’m always on the lookout for nice mascaras because I’ve just never been a fan of false lashes. From my experience, I never managed to stick them on right so I either ended up with glue in my eye (not cool) or my lashes would be falling off half-way through a night out (also not cute). So my only option really is to have a decent mascara in my arsenal! And this one really didn’t disappoint either.

It styles and sculpts the lashes to enhance their natural contour without clumping. It’s actually great for building up the lashes so you can easily apply two or three coats of this and you’re good to go.

The Cons:

-Price. It’s so steep… even by mascara standards. But look past it and see the wand in all it’s glory, the coverage and the texture it gives your lashes and you’ll fall in love with it like I did.

The Pros:

-Volumizing. It really gives an extra dimension to the lashes and whenever I wear this it honestly looks like I’ve got a nice set of falsies on.

Get it online here for €27.00!

3. Tommy Hilfiger White Cotton Jumper

Mine is in size S

So I usually don’t shop in Tommy Hilfiger but there was something about this jumper that I just fell in love with! It’s a pretty basic, white cotton blend piece with a round neck collar and long sleeves. I think it’s the perfect addition to a nice jeans and boots look. Very casual and chic at the same time. From what I know, they’re still available to purchase in Brown Thomas if you want to go and have a look. They’re a pretty average fit and meant to be worn loose enough for comfort so I definitely do recommend giving it a shot. You can check it out online here if you’re interested.

The Cons:

-Price. Obviously this wasn’t ever going to be cheap coming from this brand and at €139.00 it may seem a bit steep. But it is just one of those pieces that you can carry with you season through season so I wouldn’t be too concerned about not getting any use out of it.

The Pros:

-Texture. It’s so soft and comfortable!

-Material. It washes very well, I literally just threw mine into the washing machine and it came out good as new so you don’t need to worry about shrinkage etc.

So there you have it guys, I know it’s a shortish one this month but I’ve just been so busy! I’ll be back with you very soon with some more tips, tricks and goodies so bear with me for the next while and I’ll be back to normal with some more regular content. So until then…
