Moschino Does… Cleaning Products?

Well no, they don’t technically. But seriously, how cute is the packaging though?! I honestly thought I had seen it all but when I came across this the other day I nearly died laughing. So what did I end up doing? I bought it, of course, mostly for the packaging in fairness but the fragrance itself really did surprise me too once I tried it out. So what’s this all about and why did Moschino decide to release an Eau de Toilette that looks more like your average Windex cleaning product? Well, let’s find out below…

Eau de Windows

Buy it in your local Tesco!

It’s not exactly new but it is a little gem that not many people may know about, surprisingly enough. The concept for ‘Fresh Couture’ was to juxtapose the most mundane and commonplace of all products (a household cleaner) with something that is renowned for it’s luxe quality (the brands fragrance).

Moschino is known for stepping outside the box quite a bit when it comes to making a statement and this EDT is no exception. The fragrance comes in a bottle that looks exactly like something you might find under your kitchen sink and the liquid itself is a lurid blue. To top it all off it has a plastic spray gun as a cap that you remove to use the product. I think it would have probably added even more to the EDT if you could use the fragrance with the spray top on but I suppose that might have made it a tad too inconvenient, say on a night out or something.

But there’s more! If you want to go all out, you can also get the body lotion and bath and shower gel to go along with it and they look something like this…

Keeping With The Kitchen Cleaner Design

Both go along nicely with the EDT

So what does it actually smell like? Well, the fragrance is quite fresh (ahem) and very feminine. It’s floral notes really come through after about a minute on the skin with top notes of Bergamot, Ylang Ylang and Mandarin. Middle notes are juicy with Raspberry, White Peony and Osmanthus. It’s base notes consist of Clear Woods, White Patchouli and Ambrox which add a bit of depth and contrast to the light floral tones.

You don’t have to wear all three products at once, of course, but if you’d like the fragrance to last all day I would recommend layering them. So for instance, I would say to use the shower gel first and then afterwards I would put on the body lotion. Finally, spray the perfume on to the wrists, collar bone and at the back of the ears. By doing this you make the fragrance last a lot longer without using as much of the EDT.

Try it out now if you want to go for something light and playful. I think it’s nice to wear these floral fragrances at this time of the year because we’re starting to move away from the musks and vanillas, and Spring is only around the corner! Get it in Debenhams here if you want to give a whirl.
