You’re So Too Faced

What’s up everyone? Well I did promise you all something a little bit different so here I am, back with some more amazing goodies! Instead of talking about products from loads of different brands like I usually do, this time I’ve decided to simply write about one of my personal favourites; Too Faced. Now, I know I don’t really speak about them a whole lot but I have to say their products are hard to beat when it comes to quality. I’ve tried out a few of their lip glosses and eyeshadows in the past and I’ve never had a bad word to say about any of their merchandise. Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve heard of anyone giving them a bad review.

So with that being said, I took a trip out to my local Debenhams the other day just to see what kind of stock they had in store. I may have gone a bit wild and picked up a bit more than I had intended but sure look, the packaging just drew me in! You’ll find below some of the things I purchased and I’ll leave you with my final look as well towards the end just so you can get an idea of how all the products worked together. So without further ado, let’s get right into this!

Prepare Your Face With…

The one and only

This little gem is a one-of-a-kind primer that works perfectly under foundation without caking your makeup or clogging up your pores. You can even wear this on its own if you’re deciding to have a makeup-free day but still want to have fresh skin. It is very mattifying and leaves you with a lovely, velvety texture that feels very soft to the touch. The bottom line is that even without makeup, this primer leaves your skin looking flawless.

On top of that, it’s got a whole host of goodness inside it. Enriched with Vitamins A & C, Mulberry Extract and a powerful dose of Retinol, these special ingredients help to nourish and protect the skin. Pores are banished and tired looking skin is a thing of the past, thank god.

I found that this primer really helped to hydrate my skin as well, which can be particularly dry, so it definitely made putting makeup on a lot more comfortable. I even thought that my skin just looked so much brighter from using it and it made my makeup last all day too.

The big question that everyone probably wants answered is: Is it better than Benefit’s POREfessional? Well, I’d like to say yes, it is. They come in very close together but this one gets the win, simply because I found it sat on my skin a lot better and really minimised my pores. On top of that it smells a lot nicer too.

Arch Your Brows With…

Perfect for blondes/ brunettes

This is something I’ve been needing for quite some time now and when I saw this I just thought it would be so handy just to have everything in a neat, little compact case. Usually I wear eyeshadow on my brows but I never really bought something specifically designed just for that area in particular. After using this just the one time, I’ve decided I can never go back to my old ways, I just love it so much. And it’s so easy to use too!

In this kit, you actually get three different eyebrow stencils (which I didn’t bother using) and a how-to-guide. Too Faced says to fill in your brows using either of the blonde/ brunette shades or you can mix both to get the right tone you need. After this, you can use the setting wax to fix your hairs into place and a bit of highlight under the arch of the brow can then be used to finish the look. It’s not very complex but it made such a difference to the overall look of my brows so I was very happy with this. It’s particularly great if you like to go for the dramatic, defined brow (I mean, why wouldn’t you?)

Pout Your Lips With…

Comes in loads of shades/ finishes

A liquid lipstick that isn’t one of Kylie Jenner’s? Shock! Horror! But yes, it’s very true. Now I wasn’t planning on getting this but the colour just really caught my eye. This is in shade Sell Out which is a nice pinky brown lipstick that just glides on to the lips so effortlessly.

It goes on like a gloss but it dries into an ultra-matte, opaque finish, which is very in this season. It’s also infused with a no-sting lip plumper and filler which gives your lips the appearance of being more full (without the surgery!) I wore it for a few hours and even ate some soup with it on and it didn’t crack once or shrivel up so it gets an A+ for longevity.

Blind Your Enemies With…

Isn’t the packaging adorable?

And the star of the show… the Too Faced highlighter in Rosy Glow! God I love this. I mean, I really, really love this. Ever take a nice photo but the lighting is a bit off? Well fear no more guys this bad boy has you covered.

The Candlelight Glow amps up the wattage with PHOTOLITE technology, which diffuses and refracts light for glowing, lit-from-within skin under all lighting conditions. And it sounds as amazing as it looks. Just have a look at the inside of the pan…

So pretty! What you see here to the left is a lovely sheer, golden powder that gives the skin a pretty flush. On the right you have a gilded-rose formula that brightens and illuminates. Mixed together they are simply perfection. This really rivals my beloved MAC highlighter in Soft and Gentle because of how easy it is to use, how it looks on the skin and how it wears as well throughout the day. Of course, if you want something subtle go for maybe two swipes with your fan brush (like what I did in my picture below) but if you really to make it pop, go all in. No one will judge you. You can never have too much highlight!

Here’s My Result:

Didn’t mean to pout so much I swear!

And this is the result! I went for a natural look today and didn’t bother with any eyeliner or  eyeshadow because I just wanted to keep it nice and simple. I was super delighted with how the eyebrow kit worked out and I think it’s a good match for my hair colour at the moment which is great. The lipstick turns into a lovely warm nude once on that’s not too overpowering so you can really dress it up or down depending on the rest of your makeup. As for the highlight, well I just dabbed a little on the top of my cheekbones, my Cupid’s Bow and my nose to give that extra bit of definition. An old jumper, some Nike leggings and some crazy hair shoved in a ponytail finished off the look. I love lazy Sundays.

Until next time… I’ll see you guys later! Happy shopping.
